About the service

Winktale creates personalized illustrated stories for children with text, narration, a PDF and a video. These terms apply when you use the website and buy a story.

By creating a story you confirm that you are at least 18 years old and that you are the child's parent or guardian, or have their permission.

Free preview and purchase

Creating a story is free: you get the cover, the full text and the first illustrated pages. To unlock all pages you make a one-time payment for that story. There is no subscription.

Prices are shown in US dollars on the website before you pay. Taxes may be added at checkout depending on your country.

Digital content and refunds

Stories are digital content delivered immediately after payment. If something went wrong with your story — the illustrations didn't generate or the result is clearly broken — write to us and we'll fix it, regenerate it or refund you.

Your content

You keep the rights to the information and photos you upload. You give us permission to process them only to create your story. You can use your finished story for personal, non-commercial purposes: read it, print it at home, share it with family and friends.

Acceptable use

Don't upload photos of children without the permission of their parents or guardians, and don't ask for content that is violent, sexual, hateful or otherwise harmful. We may refuse to create such stories.

AI-generated content

Texts, illustrations and narration are created by AI models. We check them with automated filters and design every story to be kind and child-friendly, but small inaccuracies in pictures are possible — that's what the page editor is for.

Liability

We provide the service as is and do our best to keep it running. To the extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the amount you paid for the story.
